Art a la Carts returns to the Waukesha County Expo Center with more than 100 handmade artists and makers
CBS 58 WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha County Expo Center will be full of handmade creations this Saturday and Sunday. It's the annual Art a la Carts craft show.
This year, there are 110 artists and makers that will show off everything from functional lamps and rugs to decorative pieces made from vintage tin ceilings.
Molly Schwarzenberger is the owner and organizer of Art a la Carts. She purchased the event three years ago and is focused on keeping it a handmade only show.
Some of the local makers you'll find at the event are Jen’s Jammin Jars, Imagine THAT! and Sheri's Fancy Finery.
Each of them has a story behind their work.
Sheri Klink of Sheri's Fancy Finery is completely blind, but that doesn't stop her from crocheting, weaving and knitting.
"I love the ability to share my gift with somebody and to bring something beautiful into their lives too,” Klink said. "“The rugs are created from things that would end up in landfills — socks, blue jeans, the ties from your sweatshirt."
The event runs Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
