The arctic air is on the move; unfortunately, it's barreling south across the Midwest! This will easily be the coldest air of the season, and it's going to stick around through the weekend.
Thursday afternoon the winds will really pick up ahead of the arctic front. Winds between 15 and 30 mph will usher in the extreme cold. Ahead of the front some snow flurries are possible. Temperatures at Noon on Thursday will climb into the lower 20s; however, by the evening temperatures will quickly plummet into the single digits. Thursday evening wind chills will drop between -5 to -15!
The brunt of the cold air will be felt Friday morning with wind chills between -20 and -30 degrees! Frostbite can occur within 15 to 30 minutes on exposed skin. Make sure the kids are dressed right heading to school on Friday!
