A weekend to keep tuned to the weather forecast as we deal with a late winter storm
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--This next system is really a three parter. First some light snow into Saturday evening. A Winter Weather Advisory holds for Saturday evening into much of Sunday morning for counties north of I-94. The snow could mix with some icy elements as well, making for slick spots and a slushy accumulation. Then the next part of the storm is rain on Sunday, even some thunderstorms followed by a quick changeover to snow late Sunday night into the early hours of Monday. The wind will be a big factor for Sunday and Monday as well. Blowing snow will be a factor on Monday too. The lion's share of the snow will be confined to northern and central Wisconsin. I still think 3-6" of snow looks possible across the metro with more to the north, less to the south. It'll be a heavy, wet snow too. A Winter Storm Watch is still in place for later in the day Sunday until early Monday evening.
And wait, there's more. We have another chance for light snow into Wednesday before we start to warm up to near 50 by the end of the week!! This is after temperatures in the low to mid 20s to start the work week. Typical springtime weather in Wisconsin...
