Passenger dies in multi-vehicle crash in Jefferson Co.; weather appears to be a factor
OAKLAND, Wis. (CBS 58) --- Weather conditions were a factor in a fatal car crash in the Town of Oakland Tuesday, Nov. 24.
Authorities say the two vehicle crash happened around 8:30 a.m. on Highway-12 just west of Oestreich Lane.
According to police, a car was traveling westbound when it lost control and crossed over the centerline into oncoming eastbound traffic. The car was struck by an eastbound vehicle on the passenger side, sending it into the ditch.
Authorities say the passenger of the westbound car was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both driver of the involved cars were transported to local hospitals.
Authorities believe vehicle and weather conditions were a factor in the crash.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Fort Atkinson Fire Department, as well as Ryan Brother's and Cambridge EMS.
The crash is being investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Crash Investigation Team.
