Isolated storms continue this evening
WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An 86-year-old man and a Waukesha County Sheriff's deputy are recovering from smoke-related injuries following a house fire in the Town of Lisbon.
The WCSO was dispatched around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday for an engulfed residential structure fire near Good Hope Rd. and Stonefield Dr. Deputies attempted to search the residence but were unable to get inside due to heavy smoke and flames.
The Lisbon Fire Department entered the house and rescued the 86-year-old man in his bedroom. He was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation and is in critical condition. One deputy was also treated and released from the hospital for smoke inhalation.
Fire Departments from Lisbon, Sussex, Merton, Town of Delafield, Hartland, Menomonee Falls, Pewaukee, Richfield, Germantown, Town of Brookfield, Stonebank, and Elm Grove assisted.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The fire remains under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office.
