Ridglan Farm beagle, previously thought to have been killed by alligator, found alive
Big Dog Ranch Rescue/Facebook LOXAHATCHEE, FL (CBS 58) -- In an unexpected, yet relieving twist, the Ridglan Farm beagle thought to have been killed by an alligator has been found alive and well!
Big Dog Ranch Rescue announced that last night, June 10, Omelette was spotted running across the road and was recovered.
Previously, the ranch thought that Omelette was killed in an alligator attack after finding the remains of a dog similar in color in a canal not far from his adopter's home.
Omelette will now be put with a foster family until next steps are determined.
While we are happy to hear the safe recovery of Omelette, our hearts ache for the family of the unknown pup that was found.
LOXAHATCHEE, FL (CBS 58) -- Big Dog Ranch Rescue announced the sudden passing of Ridglan Farm rescue, Omelette, after an extensive search for the missing pup.
On Sunday around 6 p.m., Omelette escaped their adopter's fence. After a search was sent out, Omelette was found in a nearby canal and based on the evidence he was deemed a victim of an alligator attack.
Big Dog Ranch Rescue says that precautions were put in place as the former lab beagles are considered flight risks, such as a Fi GPS tracking collar being provided for each adopter.
However, in this case, the GPS wasn't activated immediately by the adopter before Omelette's escape.
Big Dog Ranch Resue states that from this point on that they will ensure that the GPS is fully installed and activated on the adopter's phone.
Omelette will be greatly missed.
