Waukesha County Fair expands inclusive fun for 183rd year
FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Pickleball fans, rejoice! Milwaukee County Parks on Monday, July 1 celebrated the grand opening of its first outdoor courts.
You can find them at Froemming Park on South 51st and Puetz Road in Franklin.
The county repurposed the former tennis courts into six pickleball courts, providing players more access to the fast-growing sport.
"Investing in space like this is critical for us to being the healthiest county in Wisconsin as pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the country," said Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley. "Adding these courts will make sure our community will have access to modern and popular recreational activities."
Milwaukee County Parks is also starting adult recreational pickleball open play sessions soon.
They allowed seasoned player and beginners a chance to enjoy the game and improve their skills.
Open play will be organized by skill level with registration open now.
