4 suspects arrested in connection with an armed home invasion in Richfield

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Four suspects have been arrested in connection with an armed home invasion in the village of Richfield. The home invasion took place Oct. 17.

According to a press release, the first two suspects were taken into custody during a search warrant on Friday, Oct. 27, with the assistance of the MPD's Tactical Enforcement Unit.

The other two suspects were arrested later the same day with the help from MPD's Special Investigations Division and the Wauwatosa Police Department.

The two suspects entering the residence armed with loaded firearms are a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old man, both from the City of Milwaukee. Two women, both age 18, were arrested for party to a crime for their involvement with the invasions.

Police say the investigative break in the case came from a couple sources. A neighborhood canvass revealed images from doorbell cameras, which showed images of the suspects' vehicle.  Those images allowed investigators to search Flock security cameras in the area and locate higher definition imagery of the suspect vehicle. From there, the investigation progressed quickly and led to the search warrant early this morning.

“The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is appreciative of all the support that we received from public safety partners and neighbors which allowed the safe capture of all four less than two weeks after the incident," said Washington County Sheriff Martin Schulteis.

The names of these suspects are not being released until they have been formally charged, according to police. All suspects remain in custody at the Washington County Sheriff's Office and will appear in court on Monday, Oct. 30.
