MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Saturday, May 20, parts of North Water Street, in front of Red Arrow Park, were lined with city trucks and workers. It was a part of the city's 2nd annual 'Big Truck Day'.
The event had city trucks from every city level; fire trucks, garbage trucks, snowplows, and much more on full display.
"This is an opportunity for the community to touch those types of vehicles and meet our employees," said Jerrel Kruschke, Commissioner of Public Works for the City of Milwaukee.
Little kids were allowed to strap into the big trucks, getting a firsthand look at the life of a DPW worker.
"I like when I can go inside and feel the seats and beep and stuff," said one child at the event.
Kruschke said, while trucks are fun, it's the workers behind the wheel this day is for.
"It’s a morale booster, because it feels like they are appreciated."
