GERMANTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58) – A 28-year-old man had to be flown to an area hospital after the pickup truck he was driving crashed into a semi in Germantown.
It happened just after 5:00 a.m. near STH 145/Fond du Lac Ave, north of CTH Q/County Line Road.
Germantown Police say the semi was traveling southbound on STH 145 when a northbound pickup truck crossed the center line and collided head-on with the semi. Investigators believe controlled substances are a contributing factor in the crash.
The driver of the semi, a 52-year-old man, was taken to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital by Flight for LIfe for extensive injuries. There were no other passengers in either vehicle.
Germantown Police say the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources was called for a small diesel spill from a ruptured fuel tank on the semi.
As of 9:15 a.m. Friday, the roadway was still closed for the investigation and clean up.
