SHOREWOOD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- CBS 58 received pictures of the victim found fatally shot in Estabrook Park over the weekend.
Renesia Thompson, 29, was found dead inside a car in the park.
Police say she was killed as a result of a domestic violence incident.
Thompson's mother, Eddricka Wagner, shared this message with us:
"My daughter Renesia Thompson was a loving, caring full of life person always wanting to help others. She was my oldest child of three. Her sister and her brother looked up to her. She loved her family. She loved her boys, her niece and her nephew. She was grounded in church and loved God. She was loved by family friends and the community. Her smile would just light up the room and melt your heart and now my child that I love is gone because the state and the system dropped the ball."
The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Jalun Cotton, was later found dead as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot.

SHOREWOOD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A late-night argument in Shorewood ended in gunfire, leaving a 29-year-old woman dead and investigators searching for the person responsible.
Police say the shooting happened just before midnight Friday, March 6, at Estabrook Park in Shorewood.
According to authorities, a caller reported hearing a man and a woman arguing in the park before gunshots rang out.
When officers arrived, they found a 29-year-old woman shot inside a vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A nearby resident, Lily Markoff, said the large police response was the first sign something was wrong.
“I’ve never seen that many cop cars in one place,” she said.
Markoff said she initially didn’t realize the sounds she heard were gunshots.
“I heard two gunshots. I didn’t think they were gunshots to begin with. I thought it was someone in the alley slamming their trashcan really loud,” she said.
Markoff said she had only lived in the neighborhood for about three weeks and was getting ready for bed when the quiet night suddenly changed.
“I heard ambulance and police cars and then I knew something was different,” she said.
She said police appeared to be searching the area.
“I think they were looking for either evidence or the shooter. There were drones also just flying around looking for the shooter as well,” she said.
Watching from her window, Markoff said the uncertainty was unsettling.
“I was kind of nervous because I heard the shooter’s whereabouts were not known. Should I stay by the window? Should I watch in case he wants to shoot through apartment windows or something,” she said.
Despite the incident, Markoff said she still feels safe in the community.
“It’s really sad what happened but Shorewood is a really safe community and I feel safe and I’m okay,” she said.
Investigators say no suspects have been taken into custody as the investigation continues.
