FOREST COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) — A northern Wisconsin police officer will not face charges after fatally shooting a Forest County man during an exchange of gunfire.

Authorities said officers responded to an apartment building for a report of an active shooter. Police said Floyd Vanzile fired at officers, nearby homes, vehicles and a liquid petroleum tank.

Video from the incident showed Vanzile in a wheelchair holding a rifle.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation investigated the shooting. The Dodge County District Attorney's Office later determined the officer's use of force was justified.

No officers or bystanders were injured.
