Wisconsin DOT and State Patrol recognizing emergency dispatchers

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation and State Patrol are recognizing important people you talk to, but may never see.

"They come into work day in and day out and they sit in this control room and they don't get a lot of recognition for the vital component that they play in the overall public safety picture," says Nathan Clark with Wisconsin State Patrol.

Public Safety Telecommunications Personnel Week celebrates emergency dispatchers and their commitment to serving the public in a unique and challenging position.

They answer calls and gather critical information in emergencies. The DOT says they want people to know the hard work and dedication emergency dispatchers bring to their jobs every day.
