Wisconsin DNR sending resources to battle Texas wildfires

TEXAS (CBS 58) -- Wisconsin's traditional wildfire season is dampened by the recent snow, but the weather in the southwest is heating up.

A few Wisconsin DNR fire engines and firefighters are traveling to Texas to battle wildfires there.

According to the DNR, four heavy units, engines which haul a dozer with a plow, and two engines operated by qualified personnel paired with trainees, will use this opportunity to provide relief to local units, increase training opportunities and gain experience from other fire management programs to bring back home.
