MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Aurora Health Care celebrated the announcement of new partners and programs coming to a facility on Milwaukee's near west side.

"The Beacon" is a $50 million development and will be a transformation of the former Wisconsin Avenue School. 

Its purpose is to support programs that are designed to improve the mental, physical and social wellbeing of residents. 

"This is important because we have the opportunity to change the trajectory of not just people here today now but for generations to come, simply by creating the access creating the awareness and simply providing the opportunity. Everyone deserves an opportunity to live a healthy and well life," said Glenna Scholle-Malone, community advisory board for The Beacon. 

The grand opening of The Beacon is set for spring of 2027.
