Winter parking rules Milwaukee

Mother nature beat the city to the punch with a snowstorm, but city leaders want to remind the public about winter parking rules Tuesday.

Generally Milwaukee follows an alternate side of the road rule for moving your car. In other words you can park on even addressed sides of the road on even nights, and odd sides on odd nights.

This snow rule starts December 1st and goes through March 1st 2016.

In terms of equipment they say their staff is available 24-7, and will work up to 12 hour shifts. They have 300 pieces of equipment for weather.

City leaders say most of all they have a stock pile of salt ready to tackle the storms, 75-thousand-tons. They say more than most other communities because they planned ahead and haven't had much winter weather yet.
