WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Waukesha Alderman Aaron Perry announced his resignation on Thursday, Dec. 17.
Perry has been the target of a recall effort ever since he was charged with domestic abuse in a November incident involving his ex wife.
He claims he's innocent of the charges but on Thursday, Perry tweeted that he has resigned from Waukesha's common council.
He promised his "full support" to his replacement.
I resigned this morning. My best and support to all on here. The city staff, top to bottom are great in Waukesha. The next Alder will have my full support.
