The low clouds were finally able to break up across southeast Wisconsin today, and that sunshine helped temperatures warm into the mid 30s across most of the area. The exception was in far western spots where sunshine was filtered.

The average high in Milwaukee throughout January is 29°, so every day so far this month has been at or above normal.

That trend looks to continue through much of the upcoming work week. Highs will generally be in the mid 30s but could make a run at 40° on Thursday ahead of a cold front.

That cold front will bring a chance for rain and snow showers, but at this point it doesn't look like anything major. Behind that system, some colder air will settle into the Great Lakes region to end the week and start next weekend. Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather App to see how cold temps could be.
