Walworth County Sheriff's squad involved in accident while assisting Fox Lake man hunt

A Walworth County Sheriff's deputy's car was involved in car accident while responding to a request for assistance with the Fox Lake Police Department's manhunt.
The City of Lake Geneva Police Department requested the assistance, on Tuesday at approximately 12:26 PM, with subjects who matched the description of the subjects being sought by authorities Illinois. The subjects were actively being sought for the shooting death of a Fox Lake Police Officer.
While responding to assist a Walworth County Sheriff’s deputy, who was southbound on Hwy 120 approaching North Bloomfield Road, with lights and siren activated, crashed into a pickup truck that had entered the intersection. Both the deputy and the sole occupant of the pickup truck were transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries and released. At the request of the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office the Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash. Shortly after the crash the City of Lake Geneva Police notified the Sheriff’s Office to cancel the request for assistance. The subjects were identified and not believed to be involved in the shooting death.
The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene of the crash by the Bloomfield Police Department, City of Lake Geneva Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Lake Geneva Department of Public Works, as well as Lake Geneva and Bloomfield fire/rescue units and Paratech ambulance.
