Walmart Drops Price Matching at 800 Stores

Walmart has dropped price matching from 800 of its stores, according to Consumerist.

The company announced in May that 500 of its stores would stop in-store price matching of ads.

Consumerist is reporting that have added 300 stores to this list.

At certain Walmart stores signs are popping up at checkout lines.

The signs say, “As of August 1, 2016, our ad match policy will be discontinued at this store. Instead we’re lowering our prices on thousands of items.”

Before Walmart allowed customers to bring in local competitor’s ads and if the prices were lower for the product they would match the price.
