Walker Reacts to Five Year Anniversary of ACT 10

Five years ago, Governor Scott Walker introduced legislation that came to be known as Act 10.

And today, he said local governments and school districts are better because of it.

"Making those changes that took the power in the hands of a few and put it into the hands of the hard-working taxpayers of the state, and particularly into the hands of the people they duly elect," said Walker.

The provision that drew the most fire was eliminating collective bargaining for most public employees like teachers.

The head of the Milwaukee teachers' union calls it disasterous.

Governor Walker says Act 10 has saved taxpayers billions of dollars  and turned a multi-billion dollar state budget deficit into a surplus.
