Volunteers trim trees and bushes at Wood National Cemetery for Saluting Branches event

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Veteran cemeteries all over the country, including Wood National in Milwaukee were filled with volunteers on Wednesday.

Professional tree service companies donated their employees and their expertise to help spruce up the places where America's heroes lie at rest. Trees were trimmed, stumps were removed, wood was chipped, and for the volunteers, it was more than just another job.

"Has been very emotional. I do have veterans in my family and this is one of the reasons why I participate," said Lee Fredericks with Rainbow Tree Companies.

"Saluting Branches" is the biggest one-day volunteer event in the tree industry.
