MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A trash clean-up was held on Wednesday in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood.
The event was put on by the Riverworks Center which works to improve the neighborhood.
Around a dozen volunteers came to the event. Organizers say their goal is to improve the neighborhood even if it’s doing something as simple as picking up trash.
“Pop up cleanups happen when the weather is decent,” Riverwest community organizer Ruth Weill said. “So being now it’s spring and the snow is melting, there in the city and everywhere you can see lots of litter, we take advantage of decent weather and we throw pop-up cleanups.
Volunteers plan to hold more trash pick-ups in the coming weeks.
