Versiti declares statewide emergency for blood donations
WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- There's an urgent call right now for blood donations in Wisconsin.
Versiti BloodCenter of Wisconsin says since the start of COVID-19 in March and April, nearly 600 blood drives have been canceled statewide.
This has resulted in a loss of 15,000 blood donations.
Versiti says all blood types are needed and as always, there is a particular need of "O" negative blood -- the universal blood type.
