Waukesha County Sheriff's Office mourns death of retired K-9 Jackson

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Retired K-9 Jackson died unexpectedly following a medical emergency, the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday, July 15.

Jackson served alongside his partner, Lt. Maylen, from 2022 to 2025, assisting in more than 400 calls for service that included patrol operations, tactical deployments and narcotic detection, according to the sheriff's office.

K-9 Jackson was named in honor of Jackson Sparks, an 8-year-old boy who was a victim of the 2021 Waukesha Christmas Parade attack.
