Artemis II mission in full swing: here’s what’s to come
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee VA Medical Center filled lots of shopping carts with supplies for local veterans at Target on Thursday.
Three Karate America Studios in the Milwaukee-area raised more than $19,000 for veterans at a fundraiser last month.
Instructors and students went with VA employees to the Target in West Allis.
They purchased things like socks, laundry detergent, and games.
"We have dry erase boards that are going to help in therapy programs with patients who had a stroke and they're trying to start writing and speaking again," said Torrie Hutchison, Voluntary Service Specialist with the Milwaukee VA.
The VA says the donations will help thousands of veterans.
Some of the items will also be sent to other VA centers in Wisconsin.
