They're not police officers...at least not yet, but MPD has a new class of ambassadors!
So what exactly is an MPD Ambassador? They work side by side with officers at the district stations at community events, helping with whatever needs to get done, short of official police work.
Jordan Boettcher is one of the new ambassadors and he makes no bones about it -- his long range goal is to wear a badge.
"After this, hopefully, I get into the Police Aide Program, which is a little bit different. From there, hopefully, I become a cop, but this is a really big week and it's really good on your resume too."Â
The Ambassador Program was created by Chief Ed Flynn and Mayor Tom Barrett, who were both on hand for today's swearing-in ceremony.Â
