Racine (CBS 58)--Practice makes perfect, especially today . It’s the day Wisconsin has two mock tornado drills. At 1 o’clock this afternoon, a tornado watch will be issued followed by a warning at 1:45. Most likely you’ll hear the sirens or EAS alerts on your phone or TV.
The idea is for you to put your tornado ready techniques into motion whether at home, work, or school. Emergency managers say you can never really be too prepared.
When it comes to tornado safety, finding a safe spot away from windows and being on the lowest level possible is crucial. Also protecting your head as well. There will be another mock tornado warning at 6:46 this evening as well.
