The 90-year old Washington Park Velodrome in Kenosha has a new lease on life after being shuttered for two years while undergoing renovations. The 365-yard track is now cement and it contains bigger banks for the riders. The bikes used are special. They have no brakes, and the gear is fixed.
There are designated categories for those participating depending on age as well. This particular track, by the way, is the oldest operating one in the country.
And it's here, Tuesday evening, you can see the kids between ages 9 and 18 race in the Tuesday Night Race Series. It starts at 7 again at Washington Park in Kenosha.
