MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A breast cancer resource center opened on Milwaukee’s north side Tuesday morning.
The Komen Corner – A Resource Center is an initiative by Susan G. Komen Wisconsin to help provide resources and support to people across the city.
It is located inside the COA Youth & Family Centers Goldin Center near W. Burleigh St. and N. 23rd St.
The program, as part of Conversations with Komen presented by Kohl's, encourages participants to openly discuss breast health and the importance of regular breast screenings.
“We are going to be doing breast health education, breast cancer screening referrals," Conversations with Komen program manager Amberlea Childs said. "We have a team that does breast health education talks about healthy lifestyles and directs women to screenings.”
The center is open Wednesday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
More information on the center can be found on the Susan G. Komen Wisconsin website.
