'Thank you for saving my life:' Man diagnosed with COVID-19 released from Froedtert Hospital, thanks staff

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Wonderful news was shared by officials with Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin on Thursday, April 9, related to the release of a patient diagnosed with COVID-19.

Froedtert said 43-year-old Leo was hospitalized March 20, and suffered respiratory failure and cardiac arrest as a result of coronavirus, and remained on a ventilator for 8 days.

Leo was able to go home Tuesday, April 7, and he and his wife couldn't be happier.

“Thank you for saving my life. I want to thank every single person from the nurses to the doctors – everybody who helped me. You did it. God bless you guys," said Leo.

His wife praised the nurses and medical ICU staff, saying, “I asked if they’d let us pray together and the nurses did that for me.”
