Suspect in custody after dispute with Fond du Lac police

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 40-year-old male is now in custody after being wanted on a felony probation warrant from a 1st Degree Reckless Homicide, Party to Crime.

Police say they saw the suspect riding westbound on 6th Street in Fond du Lac.

The suspect was not complying with police. He armed himself with two large rocks and started making threats to police.

The suspect threw one rock at a squad car and another rock that struck an officer in the leg.

Police say the suspect threw his bike towards a squad car before arming himself again with a chunk of concrete, making threats to the officers on scene.

One officer deployed a 40mm 'less lethal impact' round, striking the suspect in the leg.

Police say the suspect then dropped to the ground and was taken into custody.

An officer was struck by the concrete and was left with minor injuries.

Another officer was left with a minor hand injury while taking the suspect into custody.

The suspect was taken to St. Agnes for medical clearance before being taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail on several criminal charges as well as the probation warrant.

This is an ongoing investigation.
