Students Diagnosed with Meningitis at UW-Madison

University Health Services is now offering students free meningitis shots at University of Wisconsin-Madison after two students were diagnosed with meningococcal disease.

Health officials say meningitis is rare and often comes on suddenly and can progress quickly.

UHS recommends all undergraduate students get vaccinated. They also advise students not to share drinking cups or eating utensils.

The vaccination comes in two doses.

Students can get a free vaccine at the SERF (that's the gym on campus) starting Thursday.
