MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- As parent-teacher conferences begin across the area this month, an education expert says older students should take part in the meetings.
Judy Cohen of Lakeside Educational Services joined us Thursday, March 12 to talk about how conferences can help students build responsibility and confidence. Cohen says having fifth graders, middle schoolers and high school students attend allows them to hear feedback directly and talk with teachers about strengths, challenges and goals.
She recommends students prepare by writing down goals, strengths and questions for teachers ahead of time.
Cohen also encourages parents to come prepared with specific questions and to follow up after conferences to support their child’s progress.
