“When you get that amount of rain in that short of time I am impressed and surprised that no one was hurt and there was no loss of life” said Ryan.

Many families in the Burlington still do not have power in the area and they were evacuated from their homes early Thursday morning.

We energies worked around the clock to get the power back up..

Speaker Paul Ryan said they are assessing the damage and working to keep people safe..

It may take a while until they figure what the next step will be

“We need to find out if this meets the thresholds between local, state and federal governments. I’ve been talking to the governor quite a bit in the last 24 hours. We want to make sure everyone has what they need and should the federal threshold be met we will be here to make sure the response is there,” said Ryan.

If you’ve had damage in the Racine, Kenosha or Walworth counties, dial 211. They are working to find out how much damage there is in the area.
