MEQUON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A snowmobile sparked a fire that destroyed a barn in Mequon Monday, according to Southern Ozaukee Fire and EMS.

The fire department says the blaze broke out near Granville and Mequon Road around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 19.

Crews arrived to find the barn in flames. They say firefighters had to shuttle water to the scene from two miles away, since the barn is located in an area without hydrants.

Officials say one person inside the barn when the fire started was evaluated at the scene and declined treatment.

The fire department says the barn was a total loss, but crews were able to stop the fire from spreading to other nearby buildings.
