"Slenderman" linked to two other crimes outside of Waukesha stabbing

MILWAUKEE-- The obscure literary site \"Creepypasta.com\" has gained international attention after the horrific stabbing of a 12-year old Waukesha girl, but the two juvenile suspects in the stabbing may not be the only people who were trying to impress the fictional horror character \"Slenderman.

\"We do have to police what they do and what they read,\" said a mother of a 13-year old girl in Cincinatti, OH, who did not want to be identified.

A writer for \"Creepypasta.com\" introduced Slenderman in 2009.  Since then, hundreds of other writers and artists helped evolve the character.

\"We found things that she had written and she made reference to Slenderman,\" said the Ohio mother.

The mother says her 13-year old's writing has always been dark, but one night she turned fiction into reality.

\"I came home one night from work,\" the mother recalled, \"and she was in the kitchen waiting for me and she was wearing a white mask.\"

The teen tried to stab her mother.

\"I got the feeling she was playing a role-- it didn't feel like her,\" said the mother.

She believes her daughter was trying to embody Slenderman, but it's not just teenagers who may be blurring the line between reality and fantasy.

A neighbor of a couple who went on a killing spree in Las Vegas last weekend told media outlets they'd also dress up as Joker and Slenderman.  Las Vegas Metropolitan Police have not verified this neighbors claim.

\"We certainly believe that they are connected to a certain ideology which is anti-police and anti-government,\" said Asst. Sheriff Kevin McMahill, of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

CBS 58 contacted a spokesperson for \"Creepypasta.com\" but administrators declined to comment.
