Second Annual Big Cheese Classic

They were ready to rumble this past weekend at the 2nd Annual Big Cheese Classic.

One look at the opening minutes and it's easy to see that wheelchair basketball is not for wimps.

"It's a kind of like demolition derby and basketball," explained athlete James McCloskey. "You run into people. It's very fast paced. It's very hard to play."

Brookfield East High School hosted the recent tournament.

A critical stop to raise awareness says Mareike Miller of the Wisconsin Adapted Sports Association.

" We think it's a great opportunity to show the sport," Miller told CBS 58 News. "A great opportunity to have our athletes supported by family and friends."

This is not only a test of physical strength.

But also the mindset of all who come to participate.

"I pushed through just like everybody else," said McCloskey. "It's not really about how difficult your disability is. It's about how difficult you make it. If you push through, there's nothing you can't do."
