School bus drivers are ready to head back out on the roads Tuesday. Bus companies across the area spent Monday getting buses prepared so kids don't have to wait out in the cold.
Many students in the area will be heading back to school Tuesday or Wednesday. Like many bus companies, TBS Bus Services has their buses plugged in and fueled up. They had someone check all of their buses Monday. Drivers will be coming in early Tuesday to make sure they have enough time to warm up the school buses. But in these frigid temperatures, he has a warning for parents.
"Prepare because the buses might be sluggish tomorrow," Dispatcher Kevin Ray said.
Ray works behind the scenes to make sure schools and parents know if they're running behind schedule.
"When it's weather like this, don't nobody want to wait in the cold," Ray said. "It's important, each stop, if a bus is running behind, dispatch let the school know it's running late."
