OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- After more than 3,000 hits, two MVPs and a trip to the World Series, there's still something special about putting on a baseball uniform for Robin Yount.
"I get to go on the field, in a uniform, that's what it's all about," Yount said. "I don't get to do that very often anymore. So as silly as it sounds, I even get excited."
Robin threw out the first pitch and was the first base coach for the Lake Country DockHounds in Monday's game.
"Invitation to come out and be a part of baseball is pretty hard to pass up," Yount said.
Known as "The Kid," Robin started his MLB career at just 18 years old. Now he's helping college kids in their journey and taking on a new role as a bit of a scout.
"I just love being around the game, I like to watch the kids and see. Some of these kids will be in the big leagues one day, we hope. So, if I can see a kid and say, you know what, that guy's got some talent, I'd like to follow him and see if he doesn't make it one day, that will be fun for me," said Yount.
When he wasn't coaching, Robin was active with DockHounds fans, taking pictures in between sips of Robinade, which also raises money for the MACC Fund.
"I love coming back. The summers are great here," Yount said. "The people are great, what a better place to come hang out."
With the Hall of Famer's help, the DockHounds were able to get in the win column.
