Red Cross blood donations being tested for COVID-19 antibodies to help patients

(CBS 58) – The Red Cross is now testing blood donations for COVID-19 antibodies which could help patients battling coronavirus.
The antibody test results will be available to donors within a week or two following the donation.
The organization says this will help meet the needs of COVID-19 patients, especially as experts express concern going into the winter months.
CBS 58 spoke with American Red Cross Executive Medical Director Dr. Erin Goodhue about the process.
