RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The State Department of Natural Resources says Foxconn wants to pump on average 7 million gallons of water from Lake Michigan per day.
About two-thirds of the water would be returned to the lake. The information was included in a water diversion plan application submitted by the City of Racine. The county's economic development corporation says the water plan would benefit the broader area and bring more jobs to Racine County.
The DNR still has to approve the plan.
They will host a public meeting in Sturtevant on March 7. Comments can also be submitted about the Water Diversion plan to the DNR until March 21.
