PORTAGE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A girl from Portage who set out to collect more than six million pop tabs earlier this year is back at it again!
Mercedes Alves was collecting the tabs in honor of her brother who was killed in a car accident.
She exceeded her goal last year, collecting more than ten million pop tabs. She even tried to set a Guiness World Record.
She didn't have enough people to help count the tabs last year so the record didn't happen. There is still hope, however! Mercedes is back to collecting and will try for the record again.
