October 21 is National Move Over Day

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, today, Saturday, Oct. 21 is National Move Over Day.

Wisconsin State Patrol says if you see a vehicle on the side of the road with flashing lights, you are required to move out of the lane that's closest to the vehicle if possible.

If you can't make a safe lane change or are travelling on a two-lane highway, you are required to slow your car down to a safe speed for the traffic conditions until you completely pass the vehicle.

Wisconsin put the Move Over Law into effect in 2001.
