MONONA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Monona police pulled off something you don't see every day, using a new device to literally snag a fleeing car during a chase.
Police used a tool called a 'grappler.' It fires a strap from the front of the squad car that snags the suspect's back tire and brings the car to a stop.
Officers say the driver took off after they tried to pull them over for racing early Sunday morning, May 24.
Monona police say they think it's the first time the tool has been successfully used in Wisconsin.
