New Berlin Apartment Complex Evacuated Because of Fire

No one was hurt in a late night fire in New Berlin.  According to the New Berlin Fire Department, the residents of the Carriage Way Apartments were evacuated when a fire was discovered in the basement of the 23 apartment complex at W Greenfield Avenue and S Coachlight Drive.  The fire was reported around 10:30 PM and fire crews were on scene for about 45 minutes.   Fire fighters were able to contain the blaze to the basement of the building.   The Red Cross is assisting people who were displaced by the fire.
