Dropping temps and a shower chance for Brewers Opening Day
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Some of Milwaukee's finest hit the court on Saturday night.
The officers were at the Police Academy gym for the 2nd annual basketball tournament between MPD and the Unity Gospel House of Prayer.
The Assistant Chief says events like that are all about bringing the community together.
"This is all about trying to promote peace and bringing together about change. We've worked with Unity in the past two years, we've done walks in the community, in neighborhoods that are challenged by different types of violence," said Assistant Chief Ray Banks with the Milwaukee Police Department. "The church has come out and represented, and we've walked hand-in-hand with them"
Banks added that MPD is working hard to get across the message that police and the community need to support each other.
