MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department released dashcam video Friday, March 11, of the officer-involved shooting that occurred at 21st and St. Paul Avenue on Jan. 27.
Milwaukee Police Officer Herbert Davis was shot and injured after exchanging gunfire with a suspect he encountered during a welfare check. The suspect is accused of then stealing the officer's squad, ultimately crashing into another vehicle.
The incident is being investigated by the Milwaukee Police Department Homicide Unit.
As per standard operating procedures, Officer Davis remains on administrative duty pending the outcome of the investigation.
The suspect has been charged and is currently detained at the Milwaukee County Criminal Justice facility.
