Report: Milwaukee Bucks finalizing deal to make Taylor Jenkins new head coach
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Bucks are working on finalizing a deal to make Taylor Jenkins the team's new head coach, according to an ESPN report.
Jenkins was an assistant coach for the Bucks from 2018-19, Giannis Antetokounmpo's first MVP year.
After spending his lone season in Milwaukee, Jenkins went on to coach in Memphis for six seasons. He led the Grizzlies to back-to-back 50-win seasons, reaching as far as the western conference semifinals in 2022 in his three playoff appearances.
In Jenkins' final season in Memphis, he was fired with nine games to go due to reported issues with the front office and star player Ja Morant. The 41-year-old then took a year off.
He's thought to be the top candidate available, and the Bucks are wasting no time. It's been 11 days since Doc Rivers stepped down from the position.
