Mother, twin 16-year-old daughters arrested after theft from West Bend Walmart

WEST BEND Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 42-year-old mother has been arrested after her daughters stole from a Walmart with her knowledge.

According to police, a Walmart employee called to report that two teenage females went to the checkout, pretended to scan items, put them in bags, and left without paying.

The girls were observed getting into a vehicle and an officer responded and stopped the driver as she was attempting to leave the lot.

The two suspects were identified as twin 16-year-old girls.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as the mother of the girls. Investigators learned the mother was in the store with the girls and was aware the items were stolen when she drove away.

Also in the car were four other children ages 6, 10, 11, and 12. The four children were friends of the suspects.

Police arrested the two 16-year-old girls for Retail Theft and the mother for Retail Theft - Party to the Crime.

The four other children in the car were turned over to their parents.
